IoT – Internet of Things

IoT (Internet of Things) meaning Internet of Things. A system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines or humans, and the ability to transmit data over a network without requiring human-computer interaction.

With an IoT system, they will include 4 main components: equipments (Things), connection station (Gateways), Network Infrastructure (Network and Cloud) and data analysis and processing suite (Services-creation and Solution Layers). Sensors will be responsible for sensing signals from the environment such as temperature, pressure, light,... and converting them into data forms in the Internet environment. The signals will then be processed and changes will be made according to the consumer's wishes. Currently, they are often applied through applications on phones or computers.

Advantages

• Access information from anytime, anywhere on any device.
• Improves communication between connected electronic devices.
• Transferring data over the Internet saves time and money.
• Automating tasks helps improve the quality of a business's services.

Disadvantage

• As more devices are connected and more information is shared between devices, the potential for hackers to steal confidential information increases.
• Businesses may have to deal with large numbers of IoT devices, and collecting and managing data from those devices will be a challenge.
• If there is an error in the system, there is a possibility that any connected device will fail.
• Since there is no international compatibility standard for IoT, it is difficult for devices from different manufacturers to communicate with each other.
