Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence

01

Artificial intelligence, or AI, is technology that allows computers and machines to simulate human intelligence and problem-solving abilities. As a field of computer science, artificial intelligence is often mentioned alongside machine learning and deep learning.

02

These principles involve the development of AI algorithms, modeled after the decision-making process of the human brain, that can 'learn' from available data and make classifications or predictions becomes more and more accurate over time.

AI can perform tasks on its own or in combination with other technologies (e.g. sensors, geolocation, robotics), it can perform tasks that would otherwise require intelligence or intervention of human. Digital assistants, GPS guides, autonomous vehicles, and general AI tools (like Open AI's GPT Chat) are just a few examples of AI in our daily news and everyday lives.

Artificial intelligence has gone through many rounds of hype, but even for skeptics, the release of ChatGPT seemed to mark a turning point. The last time AI was this strong there were breakthroughs in computer vision, but now the leap forward is in natural language processing (NLP). Today, synthetic AI can learn and synthesize not only human language but also other types of data including images, videos, software code, and even molecular structures.

Applications for AI are growing every day. But as the hype around the use of AI tools in business begins to spread, conversations around ethics and who is responsible become extremely important.

01

AI reacts

Reactive AI technology is technology capable of analyzing the actions of oneself and one's opponents. From there, the most perfect strategies can be devised.

02

Limited memory AI

This AI technology can automatically recognize unexpected situations. In addition, it can also suggest the best treatment directions.

03

Theoretical AI

This AI technology can think for itself and learn from things around it to apply itself to a specific task. Not feasible at present.

03

Self-aware AI

This AI technology is conscious of itself and behaves like a human. In addition, it also has human emotions. Not feasible at present.

AI is Integrated into many different technologies

  1. Automation: Helps a system have automatic processing capabilities. Using robots in industries such as industry, mechanics can be programmed to perform repeatable tasks in large quantities.
  2. Machine learning: The research and development of techniques that allow systems to “learn” automatically from data to solve specific problems.
  3. Machine vision: This technology helps capture and analyze image information using a camera, convert it to a digital signal, and process it. Machine vision can be programmed to see through walls, etc. Applied in signature recognition and medical image analysis.
  4. Natural language processing: This is the processing of human language by a computer program.
  5. Robotics: Robots are often used to perform tasks that are difficult for humans. They are used in assembly lines to produce cars or by NASA to move large objects in space.
  6. Self-driving car: Uses a combination of computer vision, image recognition, and deep learning to build the ability to automatically steer a vehicle while staying in a given lane and avoid unexpected obstacles, like pedestrians.

AI applications in practice

In health

Applying AI to healthcare will help improve patient outcomes and reduce costs. Patient data systems incorporating AI will help provide more accurate patient information and health diagnoses.

Business

Robotic automation is being applied to repetitive tasks typically performed by humans. Machine learning algorithms are being integrated into information intelligence and analytics platforms.

In education

AI can automate grading, giving teachers more time. It can evaluate students and improve individual learning performance, based on simulation of teaching students.

In finance

AI in personal finance applications. The apps collect personal data and provide financial advice. Today, artificial intelligence software does the majority of trading on Wall Street.

In production

This is an area that has been at the forefront of incorporating robotics into work processes. Industrial robots are used to perform repetitive and difficult human tasks.

In the bank

Banks have found good results in using chatbots to make their customers aware of additional services and offerings. They are also using AI to improve lending decision making.
